What will happen to the golf course flood plain if more water is added or retained?
- This flood plain already suffers from too much water. The MPRB has never adequately answered our question of "Why would you put more water on a piece of property that already suffers from TOO MUCH water?" We're still waiting for an answer.
- The MPRB's plan of holding more water on the golf course property will fill valuable flood plain capacity that is needed to protect "at risk" homes.
- The Lake Nokomis area is currently suffering from excessive water that is killing trees, invading properties and homes, and causing infrastructure failure. No one knows what is really causing this increase in water in this nearby neighborhood. The cause needs to be determined before proceeding with any other water projects that will affect the Hiawatha flood plain and lower Minnehaha Creek watershed.
