The Upper Midwest Bronze Open Tournament
The most well-known Black tournament in the Twin Cities is the The Upper Midwest Bronze Open Tournament which started in 1939. The long-time promoter of the Bronze Tournament, Jimmy Slemmons, was a well-known and beloved person in Minneapolis. |
The Central States Golf Tournament
The Central-States Golf Tournament was a regional black golf tournament that was very popular in the Midwest. |
The United Golf Association
The United Golf Association was an association of Black professional golfers, running professional tournaments into the 1960's. |
